Jordanian Fighters Target Drug Factory Linked to Iran

On Monday, Jordan conducted rare airstrikes in southern Syria targeting a drug manufacturing facility associated with Hezbollah, the Lebanese group supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran, killing a trafficker. According to intelligence and local sources, this trafficker was reportedly responsible for transferring large quantities of drugs across the border between the two countries. The drug factory, which remains abandoned, is located in the 'Daraa' province. Jordan also carried out another attack on a village in the neighboring 'Sweida' province, killing the leader of the smuggling groups and his family in their home. A Syrian researcher believes that the drug factory was a meeting place for Hezbollah traffickers. Jordanian and regional intelligence sources say the deceased trafficker had employed hundreds of Bedouins to transport drugs alongside Iranian-linked militants. The government of Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, has denied any involvement in drug manufacturing and trafficking, while Iran claims that these accusations are part of a conspiracy by Western circles. Hezbollah, for its part, denies involvement in the drug trade. Israel has returned a detained Jordanian lawmaker to his country, and an Arab ministers' meeting regarding the normalization of relations with Syria was held.
