Judiciary News Agency: Seven Famous Actors Arrested at a Night Party

The 'Mizan' news agency, affiliated with the judiciary, reported the arrest of 'seven famous actors' at a 'night party' in northern Tehran. On Wednesday, April 15, it cited an 'informed source' stating that these seven actors were arrested last Friday night in a garden in the Saadat Abad area. The 'informed source', whose name was not disclosed, also reported the discovery of 80 bottles of alcoholic beverages at this 'night party'. The Mizan news agency did not mention the names of the arrested individuals. The arrests come at a time when the private lives of artists and athletes in Iran have been accompanied by various rumors and controversies in recent months. The death of Mehrdad Oladi, a well-known football player, and the publication of some unverified reports regarding the cause of his death have expanded the scope of rumors about the private lives of athletes and artists in Iran. On April 5 of this year, Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, the Tehran prosecutor, expressed regret over the death of an athlete in Iran due to the use of alcoholic beverages. Mr. Dolatabadi stated, 'We are warning the Ministry of Sports about the crime of drinking alcohol by some, which unfortunately has recently led to some incidents and even fatalities.' The private lives of actors and athletes in Iran, like many other countries, attract media and public attention, which has been heightened by police and security oversight. For years, there have been numerous reports of the arrest of actors and athletes at private parties and celebrations in Iran. Last year, Sosha Makani, the goalkeeper for Tehran's Persepolis team, was arrested for a period following the publication of his private photos on social media.
