Judiciary Spokesman: Amir Tataloo Has 'Several Cases' in the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office

The spokesman for the judiciary announced in a weekly press conference regarding the latest status of 'Amir Tataloo' that 'several cases' have been opened against him in the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Tehran, which are currently under investigation. Masoud Setayesh stated today, Tuesday, January 2, that one case is currently in the preliminary investigation stage in District 33 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Tehran, and a 'temporary detention' order has been issued, meaning he is currently in prison. According to Setayesh, in another case, an indictment has been issued, and after Tataloo's return to the country, the case with the indictment has been sent to the branch of the Tehran Criminal Court for consideration. According to the criminal procedure of the Islamic Republic, the Criminal Court has the jurisdiction to review cases that involve crimes punishable by death, life imprisonment, amputation, or a third-degree or higher punitive punishment. The spokesman also announced that previously, a 'default ruling' had been issued for Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo in two other cases, and he can appeal these rulings. Last week, Iranian media denied the news circulating on social media about the issuance of a bail order for 'Amir Tataloo.' The Rokna news agency also reported that it has been heard that two of Tataloo's accusers are the families of two Iranian girls who 'committed suicide in Turkey under Tataloo's encouragement and persuasion.' Currently, Tataloo is in detention, and according to official media in Iran, his case is being processed with the charge of 'spreading and promoting corruption and prostitution' in the security prosecutor's office. Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo, known as 'Tataloo,' was handed over to Iran by Turkish police at the Bazargan border on December 6 and was arrested by judicial order and transferred to Tehran after administrative procedures. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting identified one of Tataloo's most significant actions as 'spreading corruption and prostitution' and calling for the presence of minors under 18 at his residence in Istanbul.
