Kamāl Lotfi, father of a victim of the nationwide protests, transferred to prison one month after his arrest

The website Hrana, the news organ of the Human Rights Activists' Collective, reports that the father of one of the victims of the nationwide protests has finally been transferred to Kamyaran prison after about a month of detention and uncertainty. According to the report, Kamāl Lotfi, father of Reza Lotfi, a victim of the 2022 protests, has been deprived of the ability to contact and meet with his family since his arrest. An informed source close to the Lotfi family previously told Hrana: 'Despite the family's follow-ups with security and judicial authorities, the relevant officials continue to withhold a clear response regarding the fate of this citizen. He suffers from a skin disease, which has increased the concerns of his family and those close to him.' The Revolutionary Court of Qorveh summoned Kamāl Lotfi on April 10 and subsequently arrested him. Reza Lotfi was also arrested in April of last year by government forces 'with beatings' and was transferred to Kamyaran prison, from which he was released three months later in July. Reza Lotfi was a victim of the nationwide protests in the city of Dehgolan, a 25-year-old who lost his life due to gunfire during the protests in September 2022.
