A royal source reported that he is in the same hospital where his daughter-in-law Kate is recovering from abdominal surgery. Charles's health status has been described as 'good.' Buckingham Palace had previously stated that the King is pleased that the diagnosis of his illness positively impacts public health awareness. The British royal family usually does not disclose details of illnesses and considers all medical matters 'private,' but Charles wanted to share details of his health condition with the public to encourage other men experiencing similar symptoms to get medical check-ups. About half of men in their 50s face the issue of enlarged prostate, and the prevalence of this condition exceeds 80% among men aged 80 and above. The National Health Service of the UK announced that since the disclosure of Charles's illness, visits to its website page regarding enlarged prostate have increased by a thousand percent. Kate, 42, the Princess of Wales and wife of William, is also recovering in the hospital after undergoing abdominal surgery due to an unspecified but non-cancerous illness. Prince William, the heir to the British throne, has taken on responsibilities for caring for their three children, George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, and has postponed his public engagements.
