Labor Activists Protest Against Social Security CEO: We Have Approached the Welfare Committee

A group of labor activists from Qazvin protested against the actions of the Social Security Organization during a meeting with its CEO, stating that these actions have brought workers closer to the Welfare Committee. According to a video published on the Civil Protest Channel on Friday, October 6, labor activists from Qazvin expressed their objections to the current trends in the organization, including 'disrespect towards retirees.' The head of the Supreme Council of Retired Workers of the Social Security Organization addressed Mousavi, stating that salaries are paid with difficulty, but it should be noted that retirees manage their living expenses and installments based on the day they receive their salaries, and the payment dates should not change. Mohammad Asadi also criticized the poor state of medical services within the social security system. One of the retirees' problems is the non-implementation of the salary equalization plan, which the spokesperson for the Social Commission of the Parliament stated on Wednesday, October 4, that 'despite the approval of the law for equalizing retirees' salaries, retirees have yet to taste the implementation of this law, and it has not been executed.' The unresolved issues faced by retirees have led them to pursue widespread protests in recent months. The lack of updates to welfare allowances in the years 1401 and 1402, management's disregard for Regulation 89, problems with supplementary insurance, and the failure to pay past claims at current rates are among the reasons for these retirees' protests. Protests by retirees in front of the National Retirement Fund building in Kermanshah province continue, as do the ongoing livelihood protests in various regions of Iran, along with strikes and protests by workers, teachers, and retirees.
