Larissa Waters, an Australian senator and political guardian of Sharifeh Mohammadi, welcomed the Supreme Court of Iran's decision to overturn the death sentence of this labor activist imprisoned in Lakan prison in Rasht, emphasizing that the struggle for her freedom will continue. According to the Sharifeh Mohammadi Defense Campaign, Ms. Waters highlighted the importance of conducting an impartial and transparent trial, expressing her support for this imprisoned labor activist, her family, and her legal team, stating that 'this struggle will continue until complete justice is achieved.' Sharifeh Mohammadi's lawyer announced on October 13 that the death sentence of this labor activist had been overturned by the Supreme Court. According to Amir Reisiyaan, 'the case has been referred for re-examination to a parallel branch.' Sharifeh Mohammadi was arrested in December of last year and was sentenced to death on July 5 of this year by the Revolutionary Court of Rasht on charges of 'rebellion.' This sentence was issued based on accusations from the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic regarding Ms. Mohammadi's alleged membership in 'Komala,' which has been strongly denied by Ms. Mohammadi, her husband, Cyrus Fathi, and the Komala Party. The issuance of the death sentence sparked widespread global protests, with labor unions and syndicates from various countries calling for its cancellation and the immediate release of Ms. Mohammadi.
