Latest Status of Fatemeh and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri; Intelligence Office of Mashhad is Sabotaging These Two Political Prisoners

A family member of Fatemeh Sepehri and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri reported that the pressures from officials and the sabotage by the Intelligence Office of Mashhad against these two political prisoners continue. Asghar Sepehri, the brother of these political prisoners, announced on Wednesday, January 10, on the social media platform "X" that despite two months having passed since the surgeon's order, the Intelligence Office of Mashhad is still preventing Fatemeh Sepehri from going to physiotherapy. According to him, Ms. Sepehri is "unable to move her left hand fingers." Asghar Sepehri also stated that despite posting bail, the Intelligence Office of Mashhad is refusing to release Mohammad Hossein Sepehri until his trial and has kept this political prisoner "in limbo in prison for more than three months." Previously, Khosrow Ali-Kardi, the lawyer of Fatemeh Sepehri, warned in a letter to the head of the judiciary about the danger to his client's life in prison and called for her "medical release." According to Mr. Ali-Kardi, despite "numerous psychological and physical problems" including open-heart surgery, three surgeries on her left hand, acute eye disease, and depression, his efforts to stop the execution of the prison sentence have been "fruitless." Additionally, the Iran Human Rights Organization expressed concern over the lack of access for political prisoners to medical services and called for the immediate release of Ms. Sepehri for medical treatment outside of prison. Mahmoud Amiri Moghaddam, the director of this organization, called the imprisonment of Ms. Sepehri due to her expression of opinion illegal and stated that the "deliberate deprivation" of her adequate medical services constitutes torture and endangers her life. Previously, the mother and brother of Fatemeh and Mohammad Hossein Sepehri emphasized that the responsibility for their health lies with Ali Khamenei.
