Lawyer of the Adinehzadeh Family: Achieve Justice for Us with the Same Speed as the Ajamian Case

Khosrow Alikordi, the lawyer for the family of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, on the first anniversary of the killing of this teenager by the forces of the Islamic Republic, stated at his grave that despite "numerous follow-ups," the case for justice has not yet reached a conclusion. Mr. Alikordi addressed the officials of the Islamic Republic, saying: "According to your own religious teachings that state justice is the foundation of every government, and that if an innocent person is killed, it is as if all humans on Earth have been killed, we are seeking justice for the brutal and cowardly murder of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh." He added: "With the same speed that you addressed the murder at the Isfahan house and the same speed that you handled the case of Rouhollah Ajamian, and regarding others associated with the government, we also request that our pursuit of justice be fruitful." Rouhollah Ajamian was a Basij member killed during recent protests in Iran, for which sixteen individuals were accused, and the death sentences for two of them, Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Mohammad Hosseini, were carried out after being confirmed by the Supreme Court on January 7 of last year. Abolfazl Adinehzadeh, a sixteen-year-old, was killed on October 8 of last year during the suppression of nationwide protests when he was shot with dozens of pellet bullets by the forces of the Islamic Republic in front of Ferdowsi University in Mashhad. On the first anniversary of Abolfazl's death, his father reported on his Instagram account that a decoration at his son's grave was destroyed by an officer he referred to as "Colonel." Previously, the glass over Abolfazl's gravestone was also broken due to the writing of the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom; Men, Homeland, Prosperity." Since Abolfazl Adinehzadeh was killed by the agents of the Islamic Republic, his family has been pursuing this case but has received no response and has faced increased pressure. They rejected a blood money offer during the first session of their complaint against the officer who shot their son and caused his death, demanding punishment for that officer. On June 16, a day before Abolfazl's birthday, his mother, father, and sister, who went to commemorate this slain teenager with a bouquet, were violently arrested by government agents and were released on bail on June 30. One of Abolfazl Adinehzadeh's teachers was also arrested after attending his birthday celebration and the anniversary ceremony in Mashhad. Mr. Alikordi, the lawyer for the Adinehzadeh family, was arrested in August after he reported on illegal actions by the prosecutor's office in Faruj regarding this family's case, and he was later released on bail from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
