Levon Haftvan, Actor of the Film 'Parviz', Passes Away

Levon Haftvan, an actor in Iranian cinema and theater, passed away on Saturday morning, March 10, at the age of 51 due to cardiac arrest. The news of his death was announced to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) by Majid Barzegar, the director of the film 'Parviz', who had utilized Haftvan's acting talent in the film. Mr. Barzegar stated that Haftvan was on the film set yesterday but fell ill in the evening and died this morning in the hospital. The film 'Parviz' (2012) was a work that established Levon Haftvan as a creative actor in Iran; although it was shown limitedly at that year's Fajr Festival, it had a successful presence at international festivals such as San Sebastián in Spain. Levon Haftvan was born on March 25, 1966, in Tehran. He lived away from Iran for many years, which is why his cinematic activities in Iran are mostly related to the 2010s. Other works in which this actor has played roles include 'The Fatty's Shaker', 'The Man Who Became a Horse', 'A Romantic Theft', 'Dracula', 'The Invasion', 'Unauthorized', and 'Kupal'. Last spring, he staged the play 'Yalta Game' at the 'Contemporary Action' hall, which he said was based on his life in exile. ISNA reports that Levon Haftvan will be buried in the Armenian cemetery, but the details of his funeral have not yet been announced.
