Liberman Claims Iranian Government is Planning a 'Holocaust' in the Next Two Years

Avigdor Liberman, a prominent Israeli politician, told 'Army Radio' that the Islamic Republic of Iran is 'planning a Holocaust for us in the next two years' and argues that Tehran intends to repeat its recent missile attack on April 13 in a more extensive manner in the future. The head of the 'Yisrael Beiteinu' party stated that if Iran is allowed to create a 'nuclear umbrella,' it will use its deterrent power to carry out a devastating attack, saying, 'We are in the midst of Iran's plan to destroy [Israel].' Liberman further emphasized that 'Israel will be attacked with the aim of simultaneous destruction from multiple fronts with tens of thousands of missiles,' stating, 'They are planning a Holocaust for us in the next two years.' According to 'The Times of Israel,' in April this year, Iran launched about 300 missiles and drones towards the 'Jewish state,' almost all of which were intercepted by Israel and its allies. Following this attack, Liberman said that Israel has no choice but to strike Iran and must seek 'maximum coordination' with the United States to do so. Liberman has been highly critical of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's management during the Gaza war and northern [Israel], stating in January that the Israeli army should 'block' parts of southern Lebanon and push the 'terrorist group Hezbollah' even to the north of the Litani River, 'even if this means 50 years of occupation [of that area].' He stated at that time, 'We will not annex [Israel] or build settlements, but we will only free this territory when there is a government in Beirut that knows how to exercise its sovereignty.' Criticism of Netanyahu has intensified in recent weeks. On one hand, groups and politicians critical of him are advising more severity and forcefulness, while on the other hand, his opponents are calling for acceptance of solutions that would lead to the cessation of war. The war between the Israeli army and the Islamist group Hamas began after the group's terrorist attack on October 7, supported by the Islamic Republic, which resulted in the massacre of 1,200 people, mostly civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. In this terrorist attack, 253 individuals were taken hostage to the Gaza Strip, of which about 120 are still held captive by Palestinian militants. Biden's explicit criticism of Netanyahu; 'There are compelling reasons' to believe he has prolonged the conflict to maintain political power. Iranian-affiliated influence groups threatened Israeli journalists with death. Netanyahu's largest coalition partner supported a potential agreement for the release of hostages. Israeli intelligence assessments indicate that more than a third of hostages have died; signs of execution were found in the bodies of some hostages. Hezbollah attacks northern Israel; Houthi rebels in Yemen also claimed to have targeted the port of Eilat. The Palestinian Authority described Khamenei's remarks as aimed at 'sacrificing children and women.'
