Mahoor Ahmadi's Speech Without Mandatory Hijab: My Father Stood 'Beside No Power'

Mahoor Ahmadi, daughter of Ahmadreza Ahmadi, attended the funeral of this renowned poet without the mandatory hijab and stated that her father was forced into retirement from the Children's and Young Adults' Intellectual Development Center, and he 'stood beside no power.' Previously, Ahmadreza Ahmadi had mentioned that he was retired in 1994 'with insult.' According to some reports, officials attempted to prevent Mahoor Ahmadi from speaking at the ceremony. Simultaneously, images circulated on social media showing a significant presence of women without mandatory hijab at the event. Iranian domestic media did not report on Mahoor Ahmadi's appearance without the mandatory hijab. Ahmadreza Ahmadi, who began working with the Children's and Young Adults' Intellectual Development Center in 1970, played an important role in producing music and recording the voices of prominent Iranian poets. At her father's funeral, Mahoor Ahmadi emphasized that he 'stood beside no power and did not sway in any direction with any wind' and 'remained true to his beliefs.' Ahmadreza Ahmadi, a writer and painter, suffered from heart diseases for a long time and had several heart attacks and strokes in previous years. Two years ago, he told the 'Khabar Online' website that among the billions of people living on Earth, he only had contact with Masoud Kimiai, Ebrahim Golestan, his daughter, and son-in-law. Ahmadreza Ahmadi insisted that despite all his health issues, he continued to paint and write poetry. Born in 1940 in Kerman, he left behind many works in poetry, storytelling, and playwriting. He passed away on Tuesday, July 9, at the age of 83 and was buried in Behesht-e Zahra.
