Marco Rubio: America is Eager to Hear Proposals from Arab Countries for Gaza

The U.S. Secretary of State criticized the 'inaction' of Arab countries regarding the people of Gaza, stating that Donald Trump's plan for relocating the people of this region is an 'extraordinary' proposal. Marco Rubio said on Thursday, February 25, during a radio program that the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries only oppose the U.S. President's plan and have no alternative proposals. He emphasized, 'We tell them that opposition is not a solution; if they have a better plan, they should present it right now.' The U.S. Secretary of State noted that 'all countries claim to care about the Palestinians,' pointing out that 'countries claiming to support the Palestinians make this claim while none of them are willing to accept and settle Palestinians, and none have a history of serving the people of Gaza.' Marco Rubio expressed hope that during his upcoming trip to the Middle East, he could achieve useful results regarding Gaza and the future of the Palestinians in negotiations with officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel. The three-day trip of the U.S. Secretary of State to the Middle East will begin on Saturday, February 27. He will first go to Europe and then to the Middle East. Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has proposed that Palestinians living in Gaza be relocated to a place outside this strip, such as Jordan and Egypt, to enjoy a safe and comfortable life. This idea has received negative reactions from Arab countries, and Egypt and Jordan have not agreed to Trump's request to accept the Palestinians from Gaza.
