Martin Scorsese to Create Documentary Drama About Saints

Martin Scorsese, the renowned American filmmaker, will produce a documentary series about saints that will be broadcast on the streaming network 'Fox Nation.' This eight-part series will be produced by Martin Scorsese, who will also serve as host and narrator. The Oscar-winning filmmaker will follow the lives of eight men and women who faced persecution due to their beliefs. Among these individuals are Joan of Arc, Francis of Assisi, Thomas Becket, Mary Magdalene, and Maximilian Kolbe, a Franciscan monk who volunteered to die in Auschwitz to save a family man's father. The first four episodes of 'Saints' will premiere in November, with the remaining four episodes airing next year on Fox Nation. Catholicism and religious themes play a significant role in Martin Scorsese's works. Before entering cinema, he briefly considered becoming a priest. Recently, Scorsese confirmed that he is working on a new film about 'Jesus Christ' aimed at 'removing the negative aspects associated with organized religion.' According to Scorsese, filming for this project will begin this year, and he aims to reconnect with Christianity through this film, encouraging everyone to reflect on it. This film is based on the book 'Life of Jesus' by the late Japanese author Shusaku Endo, who also inspired Scorsese's 2016 film 'Silence,' adapted from another of his works. 'Silence,' featuring Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver, tells the story of Christian priests who traveled to Japan in the 17th century to promote Christianity. Scorsese stated that the new film has a contemporary feel, and they are 'immersed in inspiration' from the book 'Life of Jesus.' Unlike some of Scorsese's recent lengthy films, this work is only 80 minutes long.
