Masih Alinejad: Ending the Islamic Republic Requires a Roadmap

Masih Alinejad, the host and commentator of the "Tablet" program on Voice of America, announced at the U.S. Congress that she has prepared a roadmap for ending the Islamic Republic's government in Iran and is willing to share it with the new U.S. administration under President Donald Trump. Alinejad described the end of the Islamic Republic as a "moral" and "strategic necessity" for establishing peace and stability in the region and the world, emphasizing that the Islamic Republic regime only understands the language of pressure. The journalist and human rights activist attributed the request to end the Islamic Republic to the failed attempts by the regime's agents to kidnap and kill her on U.S. soil, adding that millions of Iranians are risking their lives to achieve this goal. In the latest instance of failed plots by the regime's operatives, Alinejad stated in November that the FBI had informed her of a conspiracy by the Islamic Republic to kill her. Additionally, on November 18, the U.S. Department of Justice released details of an indictment related to thwarting a plot by the Islamic Republic to assassinate Donald Trump before the presidential elections on November 13. According to the criminal indictment filed in federal court in Manhattan, New York, an anonymous official of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had ordered one of the regime's agents in September to prepare a plan to monitor and ultimately assassinate Trump. Merrick Garland, the U.S. Attorney General, stated that there is no threat to U.S. national security as serious as that posed by the Islamic Republic. Christopher Wray, the FBI Director, also issued a statement saying that the allegations reflect the regime's "ongoing and brazen" efforts to attack American citizens, including Trump, other U.S. leaders, and opponents of the regime. Reuters reported in mid-October that since 2020, the Islamic Republic has been involved in at least 33 assassination or kidnapping attempts in Europe and the U.S. Despite abundant evidence and the open threats from its officials against American officials and Iranian opponents, the Islamic Republic has consistently denied involvement in these plots.
