Masih Alinejad to Voice of America: The Supportive Arms of the Islamic Republic in the West Will Be Exposed

Masih Alinejad, a journalist and a prominent opponent of the Islamic Republic, expressed her happiness regarding the extradition of one of the three individuals involved in a plot to assassinate her from the Czech Republic to the United States. She stated that all three criminals who were supposed to carry out the terrorist operation are now 'humiliated and degraded' in U.S. prisons awaiting trial. Alinejad added that the Islamic Republic has repeatedly conducted terrorist operations and has executed opponents, including Ruhollah Zam, through kidnapping. She noted that Jamshid Sharmard, who is currently on death row, was transferred to Iranian prisons via kidnapping, and the Islamic Republic has targeted over 500 individuals for kidnapping and assassination in Western countries over the past 40 years. Alinejad mentioned that the extradition of the individual accused of planning her murder to the U.S. provides her with an opportunity to prosecute the Islamic Republic in America and to urge U.S. allies and European countries to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. She emphasized that the supportive arms of the Islamic Republic, which have either denied or mocked the acts of terrorism and kidnapping, will be exposed. Alinejad called on everyone to pressure the U.S. government to ensure that, while the trial for these three individuals is ongoing, its European allies are also pressured to label the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist entity. The Czech Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday, February 21, that it had extradited a man accused in the U.S. of planning to murder Masih Alinejad, a well-known critic of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The ministry stated that Polad Amurov, 39, who had no further options for appeal, was handed over to U.S. officials at Prague's Václav Havel Airport on Wednesday morning. Prosecutors have indicated that Amurov resided in the Czech Republic and Slovenia. The Czech Ministry of Justice stated that he is a citizen of Georgia. Amurov, along with Raafat Amirov and Khalid Mahdiev, has been charged with 'conspiring to commit murder' and 'money laundering' in connection with the assassination plot against Alinejad, who is a U.S. citizen, which could lead to a total of 40 years in prison if convicted.
