Media: Israel and Indonesia, the largest Muslim-majority country, discussed normalizing relations

Israeli media, citing the news website "Wynet," reports that Israel and Indonesia have discussed normalizing relations over the past three months. The Times of Israel noted that according to reports, Israel has agreed to halt its opposition to Indonesia's joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which currently includes 38 of the world's leading economies, in exchange for the normalization of relations between the two countries. Reports indicate that prior to the outbreak of the war in Gaza, Israel had been making efforts to normalize relations with Indonesia, the largest Muslim-majority country, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, it is reported that on Tuesday this week, an Indonesian plane participated in delivering air aid to Gaza. This marks the first time an Indonesian plane has crossed Israeli airspace. The dialogue between Israel and Indonesia for normalizing relations occurs in the context of the so-called "Abraham Accords," initiated by the United States, which aimed to mediate between Israel and Arab countries in the region, resulting in the normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab countries, including Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, over the past two years. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated last September that the United States is working on a "transformative" agreement for the normalization of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, but this process still includes details involving Palestinian groups. The increasing number of Islamic countries establishing relations with Israel leads to further isolation of the Islamic Republic, which has focused its foreign policy on hostility towards Israel. The Middle East is at risk of "expanding crisis"; the U.S. message to the Islamic Republic through Arab allies: avoid escalating tensions with Israel. Blinken, in an interview with a French network, stated that the goal of the United States is to create a Palestinian state. Israel has called for the establishment of an Arab peacekeeping force to ensure the security of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
