Meeting of Members of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee with Netanyahu

A number of American lawmakers from both the Democratic and Republican parties met with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. Doug Lamborn, a Republican member of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, announced on Twitter on Tuesday that he is honored to discuss "America's steadfast commitment to the people of Israel" and their right to self-defense with Benjamin Netanyahu. This American lawmaker, who has traveled to Israel, wrote in this tweet that as one of the heads of the "Allies of Israel Group," he will continue to support Israel's right to have secure and safe borders. Earlier, Voice of America reported on Monday that a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House Armed Services Committee met with Yoav Gallant, the Israeli Minister of Defense, on that day. The bipartisan delegation was led by Jimmy Panetta, a Democratic lawmaker, and Doug Lamborn, a Republican lawmaker. Yoav Gallant thanked this delegation for their commitment to ensuring the special relationship between Israel and the United States and promoting defense and military cooperation. The visit of this bipartisan delegation of American lawmakers to Israel comes as more than half of the members of the U.S. House of Representatives signed a letter on Friday urging President Joe Biden to take further actions to prevent Iran's nuclear program and to prepare to reinstate United Nations sanctions against Iran.
