"Meeting" is a brief narrative about those whose lives are confined to a four-walled space called prison. In each segment of this series, we visit one of those referred to as 'political-prisoners' by human rights organizations. He is 53 years old, a book lover, and resides in Andimeshk, but is currently serving his prison sentence in Kerman prison. This civil activist, considered one of the activists of the national-religious movement in Andimeshk, was charged with financially supporting the Mother Bookstore of Andimeshk and participating in sessions held at this bookstore. Ezzatollah Jafari, who collaborated with this bookstore to promote reading, was arrested in September 2015 along with seven other civil activists in connection with the activities of the Mother Bookstore in Andimeshk by agents of the IRGC intelligence. He was imprisoned for a time in solitary confinement in an IRGC intelligence detention center. After several months, he was released on bail of 300 million tomans, but shortly after, he was accused in Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Dezful, presided over by Judge Ali Mousavi, of propaganda against the regime through financial support for the Mother Bookstore of Andimeshk and participation in sessions held at this bookstore. This charge led to a one-year prison sentence for this civil activist in Kerman. The sentence was communicated to him in June 2017 and was enforced in September of the same year.
