Meeting with Mohammad Sharifi-Moghadam

"Meeting" is a brief narrative about those whose lives are confined to a four-walled space called prison. In each segment of this program, we visit one of those who are referred to as "political-ideological prisoners" by human rights organizations. Mohammad Sharifi-Moghadam, a 27-year-old dervish, is a graduate of Materials Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a children's rights activist who has been in prison for six months, currently held in Tehran's Great Prison or Fashafouyeh. In addition to writing about the rights of dervishes on the Majzooban Noor website, he was also active in children's rights. He entered Sharif University in 2010 and a year later became a member of the university's Yari-Garan Association, which focuses on children's education. The association conducts various educational classes, including computer, painting, calligraphy, and music, and organizes educational and recreational camps for children. Since 2016, Mohammad Sharifi-Moghadam has been the secretary and head of education for its central council. He was arrested during student protests in December 2017 and released a few days later but was re-arrested on February 19, 2018, during clashes between Gonabadi dervishes and police forces on Pasdaran Street and has been imprisoned ever since.
