Meeting with Zabihullah Raoufi

"Meeting" is a short narrative about those whose lives are confined to a four-walled space called prison. In each segment of this series, we visit one of those who are referred to as "political-prisoners" by human rights organizations. A Baha'i citizen residing in Sanandaj, who has been repeatedly arrested and imprisoned over the past 10 years. He was last arrested on November 1st after being summoned to the execution of sentences at the Sanandaj judiciary and was transferred to the prison of this city to serve his sentence. Zabihullah Raoufi is 69 years old and has been sentenced to one year in prison and one year of exile to the city of Minab on charges that have been raised in the cases of many Baha'is in recent years: propaganda against the regime and promoting the Baha'i faith. He was previously arrested in 2009 and sentenced to one year in prison for propaganda against the regime, which was later reduced to six months in prison in a court of appeal in the city of Toyserkan. Mr. Raoufi served his sentence in the prison of this city and was released after completing his sentence.
