Michael McCaul: Joe Biden's Foreign Policy Record Has Been a Disaster

Michael McCaul, a senior Republican member of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, described Joe Biden's foreign policy during his presidency as "disastrous" in a statement. McCaul characterized Biden's defense of his foreign policy as an "attempt to whitewash his horrific foreign policy" and "rewrite his legacy." On Monday, January 13, Biden defended his foreign policy during his presidency, stating that the U.S. has overcome many crises and is stronger than it was four years ago. According to him, America's political, diplomatic, military, and economic power has increased globally. Meanwhile, McCaul accused Biden's administration of "weakness," stating, "Americans will not forget that his administration's weakness led to severe wars on two continents and created a tense zone in the Indo-Pacific region." In another part of his statement, McCaul called the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan under Biden "clumsy." The senior Republican member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee viewed this event as making the U.S. appear weak globally and also leading to the release of thousands of ISIS terrorists from Bagram prisons in Afghanistan. McCaul emphasized that Biden's presidency will "forever be marred by foreign policy mistakes that set the world ablaze." Joe Biden, the Democratic President of the U.S., will hand over the presidency to Republican Donald Trump on January 20. Biden's defense of his four-year foreign policy record included the announcement of new chip export regulations and AI models, stating that Iran and its proxies were significantly weakened during his presidency, and he also spoke with the families of Americans imprisoned in Afghanistan.
