Minister of Information: Terrorists Seek to Create Insecurity in Iran

On Wednesday, April 2, the Iranian Minister of Information announced the existence of 'terrorists' who intend to create insecurity in Iran using 'explosive belts' and 'bombings,' but so far all their plots have been thwarted by this ministry. According to the official news agency of the Islamic Republic, IRNA, Mahmoud Alavi, the Minister of Information, stated during the arrival ceremony of a seven-deck cruise ship to Kish Island that 'terrorists' have not been able to 'deprive the people of security' with these methods. In his speech, Mr. Alavi referred to Iran as a 'secure' country where, despite 'investments from some countries,' terrorists have not succeeded in carrying out terrorist operations. He added that 'all plots and bombings have fallen into the intelligence net' of the Ministry of Information and 'all their agents have been arrested.' In another part of his speech, the Minister mentioned that 'many enemies around the world are trying to disrupt the security of Islamic Iran.' Mr. Alavi did not name these 'enemies' or countries, but some officials of the Islamic Republic have previously accused Saudi Arabia of attempting to create insecurity in Iran. Security and intelligence agencies in Iran have also published reports in 2015 about the arrest of individuals whose aim was 'bombing' or carrying out 'suicide' operations. Following the insecurity in some neighboring countries of Iran, such as Turkey and some European countries, the officials of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly praised the 'security' present in Iran. The Minister's speech during the arrival ceremony of the seven-deck cruise ship to Kish Island may also be a sign of this issue. A cruise ship named 'Sunny,' equipped with recreational and entertainment facilities, entered the waters of Kish Island for the first time in the history of the Islamic Republic on Wednesday night. This seven-deck ship is 176 meters long and 23 meters wide, with 130 cabins and 417 beds. Other facilities of this ship include 3,500 square meters of restaurant space, two cinema halls, a library, a study room, a conference hall, and a playroom for children. The routes planned for this ship include travel from Kish to Qeshm and other ports, including Bandar Abbas. The purpose of deploying this ship is to boost marine tourism, enhance the quality of tourism services for short trips, marine tours, and provide greater comfort for tourists.
