Mohammad Ali Inanlou, Naturalist and Documentary Filmmaker, Passes Away

Mohammad Ali Inanlou, a prominent Iranian presenter, journalist, environmental expert, and nature enthusiast, passed away on Saturday morning, January 1, due to cardiac arrest in Tehran. Mr. Inanlou had been suffering from a brain injury and had been hospitalized for some time. According to the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), he died of cardiac arrest at Atieh Hospital in Tehran. Mohammad Ali Inanlou was one of the most renowned environmental experts and nature enthusiasts in Iran. According to the Hamshahri Online website, he had traveled over two million kilometers (equivalent to 50 times around the Earth) in Iran's nature over the past twenty years and shared the essence of his 40 years of experience with students. Mr. Inanlou also had over 40 years of journalistic experience, including serving as the editor of the magazine 'Gardesh', the English-language Iranology magazine 'Silk Road', and the editorial positions in the magazines 'Hunting and Nature', 'Tourists', and 'Nature'. He was also considered one of the famous television and radio presenters in Iran, starting his career as a volleyball commentator during the 1974 Asian Games in Tehran. For many years, he worked as a commentator and expert on volleyball in sports programs on television and mainly on radio, and in the last two decades, he appeared as an environmental and nature expert in television programs such as 'Good Morning Iran' and 'Iran and Iranians', becoming a beloved figure among television viewers. Mohammad Ali Inanlou was involved behind the scenes of the film 'Height of Post' directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia. He also directed numerous documentaries on Iran's nature and environment, some of which were broadcast on Iranian television. His notable documentary works include 'Central Iran Nature, Nature of Half the World', 'Nature Around Tehran', 'Happy Football', 'Golden Flower', 'Weapons and Hunting', 'Iran, Nature and Nature Tourism', 'Tourism Instead of Oil', and 'Horse in Iran'. Additionally, Mr. Inanlou appeared as an actor in two feature films, playing the role of a pilot in the film 'Height of Post' by Ebrahim Hatamikia and a brief role in the film 'In the Color of Pomegranate', another work by Hatamikia. Mr. Inanlou was born on March 21, 1947, in Qazvin and passed away at the age of 68.
