Mother of Nafas Hajisharif Claims They Have Filed Complaints Against 'Noor Plan' Officers in Five Judicial and Security Authorities, Yet No Results

Maryam Abbasi, the mother of Nafas Hajisharif, a fourteen-year-old girl whose violent arrest by 'Noor Plan' officers on August 16 sparked widespread reactions, stated on Wednesday, August 31, that their complaint against the officers has left the military prosecutor's office and gone to the Tehran police inspection unit. Abbasi's comments came a day after Asghar Jahangir, spokesman for the judiciary, mentioned in a press conference that the forensic results regarding the complainant's injuries are under review and added that 'a total of 8 individuals have been summoned in this case, necessary interrogations have been conducted, and the case is in the investigation completion stage.' According to Ham-Mihan newspaper, Maryam Abbasi has filed complaints with five judicial and security authorities against the team of officers who violently arrested her daughter Nafas and her friend that day and took them to the 'Gisha Ethical Security Base.' These authorities include the military prosecutor's office, NAJA inspection, Faraja information protection, Faraja inspection, and NAJA general inspection. Nafas Hajisharif's mental state remains critical after a month and a half. She told Ham-Mihan that 'in the first days, I didn't go outside at all. My friend and I stayed home all day. We didn't even see each other. Even now, I don't go out unless I have to go to school. I'm afraid that a van will come and the officers will come for me. When I'm at school, I see any kind of van, I get scared and take a few steps back, hiding until it passes, then I go. Even though I'm in school uniform, I constantly think that at any moment they might come to our house and take me.' Regarding the extent of the 'beating' by the 'Noor Plan' officers, she said, 'In the first days, I couldn't eat at all because they hit me so much in the mouth that I had wounds inside my mouth. Sometimes I have nightmares about it; those bad scenes keep repeating for me. Even now, I still can't eat much. I sleep a lot to think less. I haven't seen a psychologist yet because I don't go outside.' Despite the evidence of Nafas Hajisharif's 'beating,' which has faced widespread reactions on social media, a case has been opened against her by a female officer of the 'Noor Plan' in the juvenile court due to what this officer claimed was 'a dislocated finger.' In response to this complaint, Maryam Abbasi stated that her daughter did not harm anyone and 'if a police officer's finger is dislocated, it was due to the beating from her.' Nafas Hajisharif added about her reasons for her complaint, 'I don't want similar incidents to happen to kids like me, whether younger or older, and for them to suffer psychological problems. I don't want them to walk in the streets with a fear that is always with them.' Previously, Ahmadreza Radan, commander of Faraja, did not consider the behavior of the officers in the arrest of these two fourteen-year-old girls to be wrong and only stated that 'the girls' behavior was bad, and the police's behavior was somewhat unprofessional.' This incident occurred while Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the fourteenth government, during the competition with five other candidates selected by the Guardian Council to succeed Raisi, stated: 'I guarantee that the entire government will stand firm against compulsory patrols, filtering, and external pressures in all meetings.' Pezeshkian's claims come as several weeks after the release of this video, there has still been no reaction to this issue, and those close to him have also not made any specific statements.
