The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, April 12, that the United States has moved two naval ships to support Israel and American forces stationed in the region to prevent a direct attack by the Islamic Republic on Israel. The newspaper quoted American officials stating that one of these ships was already in the region, while the other has been dispatched there, adding that one of the U.S. Navy ships is equipped with an Aegis missile defense system. According to the report, this U.S. action is part of efforts to prevent a broader conflict in the Middle East. During the attack attributed to Israel on the Islamic Republic's consulate in Damascus on April 2, six senior commanders of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed. According to this report, the Islamic Republic's proxy forces may also participate in these attacks, with targets both inside Israel and in regional countries. CNN, in another report, cited two American intelligence sources stating that the U.S. has obtained evidence showing that the Islamic Republic is relocating military equipment, including drones and cruise missiles, within Iran. It remains unclear whether this military equipment relocation is part of Iran's preparations for an attack on Israel from its territory or if it is intended to deter Israel or the United States from carrying out a potential retaliatory strike. Meanwhile, the U.S. President stated on Friday in response to a question about the timing and location of a potential attack by the Islamic Republic on Israeli interests: 'I don’t want to disclose classified information, but this attack will happen sooner or later.' Joe Biden also addressed the Iranian leadership, saying: 'Don’t do it; the United States is committed to defending Israel, and you will not succeed.' Israeli officials have repeatedly stated they are prepared to respond to potential attacks from the Islamic Republic.
