Narges Mohammadi and Golrokh Iraee Still Denied Family Visits for Presenting Paper at 'Saving Iran' Conference

Relatives of Narges Mohammadi and Golrokh Iraee, two imprisoned political activists in Evin, say that authorities are still denying them visits with their families. On the Instagram account of Ms. Mohammadi and the Twitter account of Ms. Iraee, posters were published simultaneously announcing that Golrokh Iraee and Narges Mohammadi have been banned from visits since Saturday, May 6. This ban is reportedly issued by the Evin Security Prosecutor's Office due to the presentation of a paper by these two political prisoners at the 'Saving Iran' conference. It appears that the social media accounts of these political prisoners are managed by their relatives. Earlier in May, a group of political activists inside and outside Iran held a two-day 'virtual conference' on the social media platform Clubhouse titled 'Dialogue for Saving Iran'. In this virtual meeting, it was announced that out of 42 participants, 23 were from inside Iran (9 of whom are in prison) and 19 were from outside Iran. Following this, several speakers at the conference were summoned by government agencies, including Aliyeh Matlabi, Ghorban Behzadian Nejad, and Hashem Aghajari. Additionally, some, such as Keyvan Samimi and Alireza Beheshti Shirazi, two civil and political activists, were arrested and later released on bail. Meanwhile, some imprisoned political figures like Narges Mohammadi have faced restrictions since then. Most political activists present at this conference spoke about moving beyond the Islamic Republic and finding a replacement for it. For instance, Alireza Beheshti Shirazi stated at the 'Dialogue for Saving Iran' conference that the window for reforms is completely closed and Iran is on the brink of change.
