NASA's Plan for Human Settlement in the Atmosphere of Venus

Researchers at the American space agency NASA say they intend to send a group to Venus (also known as Nahaid) to explore human habitation in its atmosphere. English-language websites and newspapers, including the Daily Mail and the Christian Science Monitor, have published reports and photos regarding this NASA project. According to the Christian Science Monitor, the environment of Venus - also known as Nahaid and Venus - is not suitable for human life, but researchers believe that for several reasons, this planet should be included in the list of options for humanity's future survival. Christopher Jones, from NASA's Systems Analysis and Project Management division, explained in a summary of the project that "the atmosphere of Venus is an interesting destination for further scientific research and future human exploration." The environment of Venus at an altitude of 50 kilometers above its surface is relatively safe, and in terms of pressure, density, gravity, and radiation levels, it is similar to Earth's surface. The surface temperature of Venus is estimated to exceed 425 degrees Celsius. For this reason, the "city in the clouds" concept for habitation on this planet has attracted scientists' attention. The idea of living in a space located in the atmosphere of a planet, or the "city in the clouds," was first introduced in one of the episodes of the science fiction film series "Star Wars." In the 1980 film "The Empire Strikes Back," a city in the clouds, suspended in the air above a planet called "Bespin," existed. Now, 36 years after the release of that film, several NASA scientists have announced their intention to send individuals to explore the atmosphere of Venus and fly in the scattered clouds in its atmosphere. In the real world, many planetary scientists consider planetary settlement a necessary step for humanity, stating that humans must eventually travel to other planets not just for exploration but for habitation. In this context, Mars exploration, the discovery of Earth-like planets in other solar systems, and the design and production of ultra-fast spacecraft are other components of the spatial positioning plan for future human settlement. Settlement in the skies of Venus is also a new plan added to this collection of projects. Proponents of accelerating the mission to Venus argue that, in addition to the aforementioned points, sending astronauts to Venus will provide a suitable opportunity for scientists to test the technologies needed for travel to Mars.
