Nasrallah's Body in the Hands of Hezbollah; Israel: You Are Experts in Funerals

Israel Katz, the Israeli Defense Minister, confirmed on Sunday, March 5, that Israeli fighter jets flew low over the location of the funeral ceremony for Hassan Nasrallah, the former leader of Hezbollah, in Beirut. According to Katz, this action by Israeli fighter jets carried a 'clear message' to those who threaten Israel with destruction and attack it: 'Their end will come.' The Israeli Defense Minister addressed this Iranian proxy group and other enemies of Israel, stating: 'You will be experts in funerals, and we will be in victory.' Thousands of supporters and members of Hezbollah gathered on Sunday to participate in Nasrallah's funeral five months after Israel's deadly attack on him in southern Beirut. According to Reuters, most of the seats in the 55,000-seat Camille Chamoun Stadium were filled before the ceremony began. Abbas Araqchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, a delegation of Iraqi Shiite politicians and military commanders, and a delegation of Yemeni Houthis attended the ceremony. This funeral was also held for Hashem Safi al-Din, Nasrallah's successor, who was killed in an Israeli attack a week after Nasrallah's death. Hassan Nasrallah's body had been temporarily buried next to his son, and the official funeral was postponed under a proposed U.S. ceasefire agreement until Israeli forces withdrew from southern Lebanon. Although Israeli forces have largely withdrawn from southern Lebanon, they still control five hills and Israeli fighter jets respond immediately to any violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah. Following the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7 of last year, Hezbollah unilaterally began its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. In response, Israel has launched severe attacks against this group's positions in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of members of this major proxy arm of the Islamic Republic in the region, including leaders and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Fouad Shukr, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safi al-Din. Israeli officials have repeatedly emphasized that the country will use all its resources to ensure the security of its northern borders and the return of displaced civilians to their homes. Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon target Hezbollah bases. Katz stated: If Hezbollah launches a drone, it will be destroyed. Hezbollah handed over the underground missile facility 'Imad 4' to the Lebanese Army. Israel claims that Hezbollah has turned a mosque into a weapons depot.
