NATO Expresses Concern Over Iran's Missile Program and Regional Activities

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), in a statement following a summit of member country leaders in Brussels, expressed concern over Iran's missile program and its actions in the Middle East. The statement accuses Iran of engaging in destabilizing activities in the region and calls on the Islamic Republic to refrain from actions contrary to UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which pertains to the nuclear agreement with Iran. The NATO leaders' summit took place on Wednesday, July 10, amid rising tensions between the United States and other member countries, particularly Germany, over NATO funding issues. President Donald Trump has stated that most other NATO members have not fulfilled their commitments to military funding, placing the financial burden on the United States.
