Negative Reaction to Binding Injured Palestinian Man to Israeli Army Vehicle

Following the release of a video on social media showing a Palestinian man tied to a moving Israeli military vehicle in the West Bank, the Israeli army announced that soldiers had violated orders and are subject to an internal investigation. The video of the Palestinian man, identified by local sources as injured during an Israeli military operation, was published on Saturday, June 22. The release of this video sparked numerous negative reactions to the actions of the Israeli army. On the same day, the Israeli army continued its operations in Jenin and surrounding areas, such as the Burqin Valley, targeting Palestinians suspected of involvement in armed groups. Mujahid Fayyaz, a resident of the Jabriyat neighborhood on the outskirts of Jenin, was injured during the Israeli army's operation. However, Israeli soldiers tied Mujahid Fayyaz horizontally to the vehicle and drove away from the operational area. The Israeli army stated that the operation was accompanied by gunfire from Palestinian militants, but soldiers also violated regulations by binding this Palestinian to the vehicle. The army's statement added that an investigation into this incident has begun, and those responsible will be dealt with according to regulations. The army announced that the injured individual was being transported for treatment at a medical center. Medical sources at Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin told AFP that Mujahid Fayyaz has been hospitalized and is receiving treatment. Since the beginning of the extremist Hamas group's attack on Israel last October, which led to the ongoing war in Gaza, at least 553 Palestinians residing in the West Bank have been killed in Israeli army operations and security forces. The deadliest clashes have occurred in the Jenin camp, where Israel suspects Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have activated their military branches. The Israeli Defense Minister stated last week that the Islamic Republic is attempting to deliver more weapons to these groups in Jenin. Several of the Palestinian casualties in the West Bank in recent months have also resulted from clashes between armed residents of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Palestinians following incidents such as the killing of 14-year-old Israeli shepherd Benjamin Ahimeir, who was killed in April of this year by stones thrown by Palestinian assailants.
