Netanyahu: Iran Will Be Free Sooner Than Its People Think

Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video message in English addressed to the people of Iran, stated that Israel is 'with you' and once again warned that there is no place in the Middle East that is out of Israel's reach. The Israeli Prime Minister, in this video released on Monday, October 1, referred to the 'fiery statements' of Islamic Republic officials regarding the defense of Lebanon and Gaza, saying, 'This government is taking our region deeper into darkness and war every day.' He added, 'With every passing moment, this government is bringing you, the noble people of Iran, closer to the brink.' Mr. Netanyahu pointed out that the Islamic Republic does not care about the people of Iran, stating that if the Iranian government cared for its people, it would not 'waste billions of dollars on pointless wars across the Middle East.' In another part of this video message, he declared, 'When Iran is finally free, which will come sooner than people think, everything will be different.' He added, 'Our ancient peoples, Jews and Iranians, will eventually reach peace. Our countries, Iran and Israel, will eventually reach peace.' Benjamin Netanyahu continued, 'When that day comes, the terrorist network that the [Islamic Republic] has built across five continents will be bankrupt and dismantled. Based on the immense talents in Iran, with global investment, extensive tourism, and technological innovations, a bright future awaits Iran. Isn't this better than endless poverty, oppression, and war?' The Israeli Prime Minister added, 'Do not let a small group of extremist clerics destroy your hopes and dreams. You deserve better than this. Your children deserve better than this. The whole world deserves better than this.' He addressed the people of Iran, saying, 'I know you do not support the aggressors and killers of Hamas and Hezbollah, but your leaders do. You deserve more. The people of Iran should know that Israel stands with you. May we together see a future of prosperity and peace.' At the same time, the Israeli Prime Minister warned, 'There is no place in the Middle East that Israel does not have access to. There is no place we will not go to defend our people and country.' Benjamin Netanyahu also reiterated this warning on October 1 during his speech at the United Nations, just hours before the death of Hassan Nasrallah. He stated that 'there is no place' in Iran that 'Israel's hand does not reach, and this applies to the entire Middle East.' This warning was repeated upon his return to Israel on October 2. Hezbollah confirmed the death of Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli attack. Just hours after Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah Lebanon, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah's main command center in the buildings of the southern Beirut suburb of Dahieh; an area that has been under strong control of Hezbollah, the most powerful Iranian-backed force in the Middle East, for decades. Hassan Nasrallah was the most significant asset relied upon by Iran in the region, emphasizing that his group receives money, weapons, and all its needs from Iran. Over the past year, Hezbollah has entered a war campaign against Israel under the pretext of supporting the extremist group Hamas, and Israel has intensified its operations against this group in the past two weeks, eliminating not only the group's Secretary-General but also dozens of his potential successors and senior leadership in successive military strikes. The United States considers Hezbollah a terrorist organization, while the European Union has placed its military wing on the blacklist but does not consider its political wing to be terrorist. Hezbollah's political faction also has representatives in the Lebanese parliament.
