Netanyahu: Israel is Determined to Prevail Over the Islamic Republic and Its Proxies

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, emphasized his country's resolve to triumph over the Islamic Republic and its proxies. On Wednesday, March 6, during the introduction ceremony of Eyal Zamir as the new commander of the Israeli army, he stated that Israel must achieve 'all its objectives in its war.' He added that Israel is determined to 'prevail' over the Islamic Republic and its proxies. These remarks come a day after a group of senior retired U.S. military commanders warned about Iran's nuclear capabilities and urged U.S. President Donald Trump to support Israel. The letter, signed by 77 retired American generals and admirals and published on March 5, stated, 'It is time for Israel to finish the job against the [Islamic Republic] Iran axis.' In another part of his remarks, Netanyahu referred to U.S. support, particularly from Donald Trump, stating that his country is receiving significant amounts of weaponry sent from the U.S., which he described as 'vital' for Israel's security. The American newspaper Wall Street Journal reported in January that U.S. intelligence assessments indicate Israel is considering extensive attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran this year. According to that report, this action would aim to exploit the Islamic Republic's weaknesses and prevent the advancement of its nuclear program. John Hudson, a reporter for the Washington Post, simultaneously wrote on social media that based on U.S. intelligence assessments, Israel is likely to attack the 'Natanz and Fordow nuclear facilities' in the 'first six months' of this year. Some Israeli officials and American lawmakers have recently stated that regarding Iran's nuclear program, they either agree with a 'Libya-style agreement' or see military action as the other option. Donald Trump has stated that he prefers an agreement that dismantles the entire nuclear program of the Islamic Republic. He has said he favors diplomacy over military options.
