Netanyahu: The People of Iran Should Be Considered 'True Partners' for a Better Future

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, on Friday at the 78th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, emphasized the need to support the brave Iranian citizens who have been killed and the thousands arrested during last year's protests. He stated that instead of the Islamic Republic, the people of Iran should be seen as true partners for a better future. The Israeli Prime Minister also added that Western powers should reinstate nuclear sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to him, these powers had stated eight years ago when signing the nuclear deal (JCPOA) with the Islamic Republic that if Iran violated the agreement, they would restore the sanctions; however, despite Iran's violations of the JCPOA, they have not yet done so. Netanyahu stressed the necessity of a constant 'credible threat' against the Islamic Republic, asserting that as long as he is Prime Minister of Israel, he will not allow the 'regime' of Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. He stated that the Islamic Republic, with its 'murderous intentions and nature,' continues to spend billions on its terrorist proxies, expands its 'tentacles of terror' worldwide, threatens international shipping lines, takes foreign citizens hostage for ransom, and continues its nuclear threats. Netanyahu described the Islamic Republic's missile and drone programs as a threat to Israel and 'Arab neighbors,' reminding that the Islamic Republic's drones have brought death and destruction to innocent Ukrainian citizens. In another part of his speech, Netanyahu mentioned that Israel and Saudi Arabia are on the verge of 'a historic peace agreement' that will create 'a new Middle East.' He referred to the Abraham Accords between Israel and four Arab countries: Bahrain, the UAE, Morocco, and Sudan, and the efforts to expand these peace agreements, stating that the 'fanatics' ruling Iran will surely do everything they can to thwart this historic peace. Netanyahu added that in his meeting two days ago with Joe Biden, the President of the United States, he shared his optimism about achieving peace in the Middle East and described America's role in this regard as significant and undeniable. He also praised the communication corridor between India and Europe, which is set to connect to Europe through the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel. Regarding the Palestinians, he stated that they must be part of the peace process between Israel and the Arab world and should not veto it. According to Netanyahu, peace can only be achieved if it is based on realities rather than lies. The Israeli Prime Minister insisted that Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, must end his anti-Semitic remarks and the Palestinian officials' praise of 'terrorists.'
