Netanyahu Welcomes Trump's Warning to Hamas

He further stated that he ordered the Israeli army to reinforce its forces inside and around the Gaza Strip. Donald Trump warned that if the Israeli hostages are not released by noon on Saturday, February 27, 'hell will break loose.' The terrorist group Hamas has accused Israel of violating the ceasefire by delaying the release of hostages. Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, reacted to the deadline set by the U.S. President, stating that 'the language of threats has no value and only complicates the situation.' He called the only way to return the Israeli hostages 'respect for the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.' Following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, it was supposed that Hamas would release a number of Israeli hostages in exchange for the release of several Palestinian prisoners by Israel. However, Hamas recently announced that it has halted the process of releasing hostages due to what it considers a violation of the ceasefire by Israel. Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, also urged Hamas to continue the planned release of hostages a day after the Palestinian group announced its intention to stop the exchange of hostages for prisoners.
