Netanyahu: Western concessions to Iran in nuclear deal are increasing

Israeli Prime Minister says that the 'concessions' the West intends to give Tehran in the final agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program are 'increasing'. He states, 'We are witnessing a complete retreat' from the 'red lines' that 'global powers have recently made public'. According to Haaretz, Benjamin Netanyahu, in a weekly cabinet meeting, said there is 'no rush' to sign a final agreement with Iran. He described the agreement as 'getting worse every day'. These comments come as recent reports, which have not yet been officially confirmed, suggest that the negotiations to finalize the agreement between Iran and global powers will likely continue a few days after July 1, the set deadline. The Israeli Prime Minister, known as one of the staunchest critics of the ongoing negotiations and potential agreement, stated, 'It is not too late to back out of the agreement; to return to demands that prevent Iran from arming itself with nuclear weapons, which can support its violence and terrorist attacks around the world.' He referred to the blocked funds that are expected to be made available to Iran upon the lifting of sanctions if a final agreement is reached. He had previously mentioned this blocked money in another critical speech against the nuclear agreement, describing Tehran as 'the most violent power in the world' and stating that as soon as it possesses $150 billion in blocked funds due to sanctions, it will use it to equip its affiliated forces. Tehran has always emphasized that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. In his recent remarks, the Israeli Prime Minister also referenced a recent critical report from the U.S. regarding human rights in Iran, stating, 'Despite those reports, negotiations continue.' He mentioned that Iran has not been asked to 'change its behavior'. Netanyahu had previously demanded that the final agreement include a 'clear and unambiguous commitment from Tehran to recognize Israel'. In response to those remarks, former U.S. President Barack Obama stated that asking Iran to recognize Israel in an agreement to prove the peaceful nature of its nuclear program is 'fundamentally an incorrect judgment'. In this context, Araqchi accused some members of the P5+1 of 'changing their position'. Kerry in Vienna: 'We have difficult work ahead'. The likelihood of continuing negotiations after July 1 is increasing.
