Netanyahu's Appreciation for Biden: America Supported Israel During This Difficult Time

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed gratitude to U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday, October 18, for his visit to Israel and his "unwavering support" during this "difficult time." According to Arash Sigarachi, a Voice of America correspondent in Israel, Netanyahu, who met Biden in Tel Aviv, described U.S. support as a reflection of the resolute will of the American people, stating, "We have seen your support every day in the breadth and depth of the cooperation we have had since the beginning of this war." Netanyahu referred to the period following the Hamas militants' attacks on southern Israel, during which 1,400 people, especially Israeli civilians, were killed. The Israeli Prime Minister thanked Biden for his actions to assist Israel in its self-defense and also mentioned the U.S. President's warnings to Israel's "enemies." Netanyahu emphasized that "a united Israel will defeat Hamas," stating, "Just as the civilized world united to defeat the Nazis and also to defeat ISIS, the civilized world must unite to defeat Hamas." Biden, during his meeting with Netanyahu, described the explosion at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza as a "terrible tragedy" and both sides accused each other regarding the incident. Additionally, reports indicated that five shipments of American weapons and equipment had entered Israel.
