Netanyahu's Spokesman: We Will Act Against the Islamic Republic Without U.S. Approval if Necessary

The spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is closely monitoring the Iranian Islamic Republic's sphere of influence, stating, "Our eyes are always focused on this issue. And if necessary, we know how to respond." Omer Dostri told the Jerusalem Post that he sees no change in Trump during his second term compared to the first. He said, "His statements still reflect strong support for Israel. Many people in his administration are very pro-Israel and are 'open' to us. We expect to have a like-minded government and are happy to cooperate – we can achieve great things with him in the Middle East." When asked if a return to war in Gaza is inevitable, he replied that given the current conditions, a return to full-scale conflict is possible. The Israeli Prime Minister's spokesperson refrained from providing further details but emphasized that Netanyahu and Trump share a common view regarding the Islamic Republic. He stated, "The Prime Minister believes that Trump's aggressive policy from his previous administration should be reinstated." Dostri continued, "War is one way to achieve our goals. If [the Islamic Republic of] Iran stops its nuclear ambitions without an Israeli attack, that would be great. But we do not expect such a thing. Even if [the Islamic Republic] Iran claims to adhere to [the commitments of the nuclear deal and the agency], we must be skeptical; it could be a deception. Trump's previous policy known as 'maximum pressure' worked, and Israel expects to cooperate with him to revive that [policy]." When asked about Trump's statements regarding finding a diplomatic solution concerning Iran, he acknowledged that Trump has always pursued foreign policy with a 'business mindset.' Dostri said, "If an agreement is possible, he will try to reach it. But ultimately, diplomacy has its limits. We will give it a chance, but time is running out. If necessary, we will act. Whether with U.S. approval or without it." He added, "Israel has dealt significant blows to the Iranian Islamic Republic's sphere of influence in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. We have also significantly damaged the Iranian Islamic Republic's strategic air defense system, missile production capabilities, and some components of its nuclear program. When you put all these factors together, [the Islamic Republic] Iran may feel cornered, and this could push them to accelerate their nuclear ambitions."
