The Labour Party won 412 seats out of a total of 650 seats in the British Parliament in this country's early elections. In contrast, the Conservative Party, which had been in power for the past 14 years, won only 121 seats in the elections. In another part of his first official speech, Mr. Starmer emphasized that the people voted decisively for a fundamental change in the country. He noted that the election result reflects the people's strong desire for national renewal and a return to a politics that serves the people. Mr. Starmer added, "When the gap between the sacrifices of the people and the service they receive from politicians becomes so large, people not only lose their trust in politics but also their hope for the future."
