He has only five weeks to persuade Canadian voters. Immediately after taking the oath, he stated that he would take a 'different approach' regarding Donald Trump. The parliamentary elections in Canada were supposed to be held by October 20, but Carney announced on Sunday that he had asked the Governor General to dissolve Parliament and call for early elections on April 28, which the Governor General has agreed to. The new Prime Minister hopes to benefit from a significant improvement in the Liberal Party's popularity in polls since January.
