The report, which has been reflected in American media including NBC News, adds that when Donald Trump purchased the large General Motors building located on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, the National Bank was present in part of that building, and Trump's company renewed its lease agreement. Shortly thereafter, the U.S. government raised the allegation that the National Bank had purchased sensitive materials for Iran's nuclear program and was responsible for transferring funds for one of the units of the Revolutionary Guards that supported terrorist operations from 2002 to 2006. American media state that Trump's companies' dealings with one of Iran's largest banks further revealed the extensive business interests of the Republican presidential candidate here and there with various countries, interests that contradict his claims during the election campaign. Donald Trump has referred to the Iranian government as one of America's greatest enemies and harshly criticizes his rival Hillary Clinton for not implementing a strong policy towards the Iranian regime during her tenure at the State Department. The Daily News, while publishing this report, states that the amount of money the National Bank paid for leasing its activities on the 44th floor of the General Motors building to Trump's company was $500,000 per year. The U.S. Treasury Department typically does not disclose news related to the issuance of licenses for individuals and exemptions for certain companies from some sanctions regulations.
