New Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Kevin Spacey

On Thursday in the UK, new allegations of sexual abuse against Kevin Spacey, the well-known American actor and director, were raised. A former employee of the Old Vic Theatre, where Mr. Spacey was the artistic director for many years, claims that the theatre's management overlooked the Hollywood actor's inappropriate behavior. According to a report by AFP, former employees of the Old Vic Theatre, where Kevin Spacey was the principal director from 2003 to 2015, told The Guardian that the managers of this famous London theatre ignored Mr. Spacey's inappropriate sexual behavior. One of these employees, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Guardian: 'We were all complicit in keeping this under wraps. I personally witnessed him touching men's bodies in various situations repeatedly. He abused his special position as a prominent artistic figure. He touched my genital area. What deeply disturbs me is the hypocrisy of the Old Vic management, pretending they were unaware of these incidents.' Rebecca Gooden, a temporary theatre employee in 2010, stated that stories about Kevin Spacey's behavior were always circulating. She told The Guardian that it was a 'joke' that young, handsome men were not hired for administrative roles at the theatre. She added, 'I was told I was not allowed to speak about this outside the theatre environment. I am really angry that the theatre has chosen to remain silent about this issue.' Recently, after Kevin Spacey apologized for inappropriate sexual behavior with a 14-year-old actor in the 1980s, his name was added to the recent wave of sexual abuse revelations in Hollywood. The management of the famous Old Vic Theatre responded to this news by stating that they are not in a position to comment on those events. The theatre claims to have set up a special email address for 'anyone who has comments about Kevin Spacey's inappropriate behavior at this theatre to send them through.' A spokesperson for the Old Vic management told AFP: 'Since we launched this confidential contact channel, we have seen the positive aspects of this open-door policy and information sharing. We support this important change in the theatre industry and comply with it.' The name of 58-year-old Kevin Spacey, a two-time Oscar winner, was recently mentioned in the wave of sexual abuse revelations in Hollywood. An actor named Anthony Rapp accused him of sexually abusing him in the 1980s when Rapp was 14 years old and Spacey was 26. Following that, Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos also accused Spacey of sexually inappropriate behavior during their collaboration at the Old Vic Theatre. He added that he stood up against Mr. Spacey's behavior while others were afraid to say anything to him. Filmmaker Tony Montana also accused Mr. Spacey of touching his genital area in a café in Los Angeles in 2003. The British newspaper The Sun reported on Tuesday that a bar employee in London also claimed that Kevin Spacey had exposed himself to her and then asked her to remain silent about it by giving her an expensive watch. On Wednesday, an American man, whose identity was not disclosed in the report, told the BBC that when he was 17, Kevin Spacey invited him to his home in New York City and asked him to sleep in his bed. He slept on the couch but when he woke up, he realized that Kevin Spacey had wrapped his arms around him. A few days ago, Kevin Spacey tweeted that he does not remember his meeting with Anthony Rapp but apologized for it.
