No News on the Status of Jasim Haseli, Arrested Athlete in Marivan

Human rights sources have reported that more than a week after the arrest of Jasim Haseli, an athlete and head of the Muay Thai Association in Marivan, there is still no news about his fate. According to the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Jasim Haseli was summoned to the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Marivan on July 7, where he was beaten, and later that evening was arrested by government agents on one of the streets of Marivan. Despite the family's efforts to inquire about this kickboxing champion, security agencies have so far refrained from providing any information about him. There has been no news regarding the charges against him or his place of detention. Involuntary disappearance is considered a crime against humanity, and the U.S. Department of State previously referred to this government action as a gross violation of human rights.
