Nosratollah Mo'inian, Last Chief of the Imperial Court, Passed Away at 103

Prince Reza Pahlavi announced the death of Nosratollah Mo'inian, the Chief of the Imperial Court during Mohammad Reza Shah's reign, on the social media platform X. On Sunday, November 20, Reza Pahlavi expressed his condolences to Mr. Mo'inian's family and friends, stating: "Nosratollah Mo'inian, both in his ministerial role and for over 12 years as the head of my late father's Imperial Court, was one of Iran's distinguished managers in the pre-57 catastrophe era." He added: "Mr. Mo'inian, who worked in the press before entering government, was known for his love for Iran, hard work, and commitment to order and discipline." Reports indicate that Mr. Mo'inian passed away last week in Paris, the capital of France. Born in 1921 in Isfahan, Nosratollah Mo'inian was active in the press before taking on governmental responsibilities and was an opponent of Mohammad Mossadegh's government. After the coup on August 19, 1953, he became the Deputy Director of the General Department of Propaganda and Radio in Fazlollah Zahedi's cabinet. This political figure became the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the General Department of Publications and Radio in Manouchehr Eghbal's government in 1958, retaining this position in the cabinets of Jafar Sharif-Imami, Ali Amini, and Asadollah Alam. Mr. Mo'inian was appointed Minister of Roads in Alam's second government and held the position of Minister of State and head of Publications and Radio in his third government. He was appointed as the head of the Imperial Court in December 1966 and left Iran with Mohammad Reza Shah on January 19, 1979.
