Nowruz 1404; Empress, Googoosh, and Experiences of 'Nowruzvashi'

Nowruzvashi 1404 is Radio Farda's covenant with its audience who believe in renewal and shedding the 'old cloak of thought.' In its special Nowruz program, Nowruzvashi takes its Persian-speaking audience around the world, especially this time to reflect on ancient pasts through a contemporary lens. In Nowruzvashi 1404, Empress Farah Pahlavi shares her childhood Nowruz memories up to the court and her years far from Iran. Googoosh, 'the queen of Iranian pop music,' discusses her cinema career and reads a section from the Persian translation of her memoirs. Mansour Tehrani, the lyricist of 'Makhloogh,' 'Khalvat,' and 'Pishkesh,' invites you to listen to a part of his memoirs titled 'Abri va Aftabi,' with the section 'Googoosh is Coming.' Morteza, a well-known pop singer, talks about the behind-the-scenes of the famous Nowruz song, and you will hear snippets of the original version of this spring song and a second version with a song by Homa Mirafshar. Masoud Rahnama, an old theater actor, was a guest on Nowruzvashi with a radio play of black comedy. Kamran Malekmotiei, an old producer of Radio Iran, shares insights on the tradition of 'Bahr-e Tavil Khani' during Nowruz and the challenges of producing such programs at the Islamic Republic's Voice. In this program, alternative Iranian music female singers, Aida Shahghasemi and Mohia Hamedi, talk about their musical experiences related to 'Nowruzvashi' events.
