Obama: I'm Tired of Talking About Hillary Clinton's Rival

Barack Obama, the President of the United States, says he is "tired of talking about Donald Trump," Hillary Clinton's rival in the presidential election. He also warned Democratic Party members not to take the upcoming election lightly, as an "unpredictable season" is ahead. The President, who is currently on summer vacation, stated on August 16, "I don't need to criticize her opponent (Clinton's rival) because every time he speaks, he does that himself regarding his own candidacy." These comments come just days after Trump's harsh attacks against Obama and Clinton. On August 10, Trump accused the U.S. President and the Democratic nominee of being the "founders" of the Islamic State (ISIS) during a speech and a subsequent television interview. The White House said it did not want to comment on these remarks, but Clinton and the Democrats strongly criticized them. Obama stated, "To be honest, I am tired of talking about his opponent [: Donald Trump]." Obama, who has clearly supported Hillary Clinton's candidacy in recent weeks, also warned Democratic members not to take the next three months leading up to the election lightly. According to him, if Democrats are not concerned about the outcome "even a day after the election," they have made a grave mistake. The President said there is still a tough road ahead to counter what he called a "negative campaign" against Hillary Clinton: "We need to run an intense campaign over the next 80 days (until the election)." Obama, speaking at a fundraising event for Clinton's campaign, emphasized that Democrats must remain continuously engaged in the electoral battles and mobilize people to support Clinton. On the other hand, Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, has recently criticized the media and warned about "fraud" in the elections. The U.S. elections will be held on November 8. The next President of the United States, the 45th in this position, will begin work in January 2017.
