One Year of 'America First' Policy; First Anniversary of President Trump's Administration

One year after President Donald Trump's return to power, the White House and close allies of the President define the first year's record with 'a return to power' and the realization of the 'America First' slogan. On the first anniversary of the new administration, the official White House account wrote on Tuesday, January 30, on 'X': 'A year ago, everything changed. A return to power. A return to America First. The era of victory has arrived, and this is just the beginning. Let’s make America great again.' This slogan clearly emphasizes the continuity of President Trump's political brand in his second term, prioritizing America. This aligns with the narrative that the U.S. President outlined during his inauguration about 'the beginning of an exciting era of national success' and 'the return of global respect.' Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, also wrote on Tuesday in a message on X that the President 'has restored America's national sovereignty in just one year by boldly pursuing a peace policy from a position of strength.' Rubio reiterated Trump's old slogan, stating that thanks to his 'decisive leadership,' 'allies respect us, enemies fear us, and the American people are prioritized,' concluding that 'promises were made, promises were kept.' This rhetoric portrays a President who is not compromising but rather asserting his will and overcoming obstacles to fulfill his electoral promises. However, beyond the slogan, the first year of Trump's return was accompanied by a series of significant decisions. From a new wave of tariffs and their revenue generation for America that has transformed the global trade map, to extensive operations for the expulsion of illegal immigrants, fighting crime in American cities, merging or eliminating certain institutions and organizations, and ultimately the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, the dictator of Venezuela, and his transfer to the U.S. for trial, these actions were implemented in less than a year. President Trump has three more years of his second term ahead, and in these three years, he and the United States will experience the fruits of the 'Make America Great Again' policy legacy.
