Order Issued for Hossein Ronaghi Maleki's Hospitalization

Saham News reported on the 'order' from the forensic medicine of Evin prison for the hospitalization of Hossein Ronaghi Maleki after 18 days of hunger strike by this political prisoner. The decision was made after examining Mr. Hossein Ronaghi Maleki and considering his 'low blood pressure and physical weakness.' Saham News also added that Hossein Ronaghi Maleki has refused hospitalization 'until the result of his dry hunger strike is achieved.' This political prisoner has been on hunger strike since April 7 in protest against the prison authorities' refusal to provide medical treatment. Hossein Ronaghi Maleki's family claims that he has lost one kidney during his imprisonment and the other is currently infected. This political prisoner and his family are demanding his release for continued treatment. Hossein Ronaghi Maleki was arrested in 2009 and sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Revolutionary Court on charges of membership in the Iran Proxy Network, insulting the leadership, and insulting the president. He was released from prison last September due to his deteriorating health but was summoned and arrested again on February 28, 2015. Recently, several civil and political activists sent a letter to Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, urging him to end his hunger strike. The HRANA website, which monitors human rights conditions in Iran, has reported that several political or security prisoners in various prisons across Iran are currently on hunger strike with various demands. Besides Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, Amir Amirgholi, Saeed Shirzad, Afshin Bayamani, Masoud Arab Choubdar, Farid Azmoudeh, Iraj Hatami, Behzad Tarahmi, Saleh Pichganlou, Mostafa Parvin, Saeed Sadeghifar, and Morteza Parvin are other prisoners whose hunger strikes have been reported by HRANA.
