Ordibehesht; The Last Month of Queiroz's Coaching for Iran's National Team

The head coach of Iran's national football team announced that he would no longer have responsibilities in this team starting from the 11th of Ordibehesht. Carlos Queiroz stated to reporters after the match between Persepolis and Foolad that he would submit his resignation on Saturday, specifying the date of the 11th of Ordibehesht, which coincides with the federation's election day. The Portuguese coach explained his decision, saying he would resign to help Kafashian, as he believes that if he is dismissed, the people and players will turn against him, and if he is retained, Asadi and his president will oppose it. If the new federation president accepts Queiroz's resignation, they will need to hire another coach for the final round of World Cup qualifying matches. The vice president of Iran's football federation supported Queiroz, stating that regardless of opinions, someone who has coached Real Madrid is a great coach. He mentioned that he has seen Queiroz work hard for the national team despite his illness, but unfortunately, some question his efforts. Mahmoud Islamician further stated that the situation with Queiroz is like sending a Formula 1 driver to a race in a Peugeot; while he doesn't suggest providing a Porsche, the national team needs appropriate facilities. The vice president also mentioned that given the current conditions of the national team, it is very unlikely to dissuade him from staying. He added that efforts should be made with government assistance to encourage Queiroz to remain. Unfortunately, some who are failing in other areas are attacking him. In recent months, despite a ban on interviews against the national team's coaching staff, Mohammad Mayeli-Kohan has conducted numerous discussions regarding Queiroz. Abbas Torabian, head of the futsal committee, is also among the critics of the national team's coach. Queiroz responded to this by saying that Torabian has threatened to reveal information and should address issues for national interests. He accused Torabian of cowardice for hiding his face and questioned who was obstructive when they were trying to recruit Ashkan Dejagah and Reza Ghoochannejhad, referring to individuals who were mismanaging players' daily payments. The sports website reported that Queiroz again mentioned Asadi, who is considered a candidate to succeed Kafashian. Queiroz, dissatisfied with not being invited to a meeting with the FIFA Secretary-General, leaves the decision about the end of his cooperation to the next federation president. Besides the national team coach, Ali Daei also criticized the manner of the invitation to meet with the FIFA Secretary-General, stating that the federation is so disorganized that they called him the same day to invite him to dinner. He asserted that he would not attend meetings he was not previously invited to, indicating that the officials do not value themselves and have no plans. Ali Kafashian opposed the national team's coach's request for a training camp abroad and addressed his criticisms regarding the training camp's condition in Tehran and the lack of uniforms for the national team players, stating that the municipality would soon begin repairing the grass. Regarding the uniforms, he said no reasonable proposal had been received, and with the current situation, they would even beg if uniforms were offered for free.
