Over 3,000 American Sailors and Marines Enter the Red Sea Amid Rising Tensions with Iran

The United States Navy announced on Monday, August 7, that "more than 3,000" American military personnel have entered the Red Sea with two warships as part of a troop deployment increase following the seizure of tankers by Iran. According to AFP, the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet stated in a statement: "U.S. sailors and Marines entered the Red Sea on Sunday after passing through the Suez Canal in a pre-announced deployment."
